All About Itsa & other fun times

If there is one thing Itsa is good at, it's being entertaining! She is always making me laugh! Some of her antics recently have been:

Falling asleep on the ottoman and falling off of it. I literally was woken up from sleeping when she fell off it one night. You can see here why it's easy for her to maybe stretch a little too much and tumble right over.

Good thing it's not a far fall!
She also helped me set up my new printer. (Side story! When I went to the Apple store to get my new computer, they had an awesome deal in that you got a FREE printer. Well, I didn't even realize until I set it up that it is not just a printer, it's a copier and a scanner!! So, if you need any basic office needs such as printing, copying and/or scanning, just come on over!)

This printer is amazing. The little screen showed a movie on how to set it up! It was awesome.
Itsa also LOVES the shower. So much so, that one night, she practically broke down the bathroom door to get inside while I was taking a shower. The door was shut and a few minutes into my shower, there she is in her favorite spot- on the ledge of the bathtub in between the shower curtain and the liner. I don't know how she got in. She must have used all her might to open the door. It was crazy!

Itsa loves to watch the water drip from the faucet.

Then, she likes to play with the water in the tub.

And she likes to play with the water dripping out!
So, Saturday afternoon I took her to the vet's for her check-up. Now, the vet is never her favorite thing to do but this time was especially awful! She is getting to be such an isolated kitty, that being around other cats is not a good thing. And there was some little dog yipping in the back so that didn't help either. Well, the doctor had to do a blood test so she opened Itsa's carrier to let her out. Itsa started hissing a lot at her. Then, to draw the blood, they had two people hold her down, they taped her legs together so she wouldn't kick and shaved part of her neck! Well, that didn't sit too kindly with Itsa and she screamed and shrieked and made the most awful sounds I've ever heard! It was terrible. But, it only lasted a couple of minutes and the tests came back that she is 100% healthy! As soon as she was home, she was back to her sweet self, too.

Can you see the patch of fur that was shaven off on her neck? Poor thing!
 Fun events around town:

Here is a picture of the YMCA that I go to. It looks like an old church almost. It's downtown in a neighborhood that looks like the Cosby Show. It's real small. Especially compared to Nashville's downtown Y, which is HUGE. But, it's not very busy so that means I always have plenty of machines and things to work on while I'm there. So I like it.

Quality Hill YMCA- You wouldn't even know it was there if you walked right by.
Last week, JJ and I had dinner at Waldo Pizza and it especially yummy. I mean, really, really good. I tried their famous ooey-gooey butter cake. It was awesome!

The recipe was made famous in St. Louis, but I'm going to ignore that fact because it is so good.
We also checked out some live music at Hannibal's Waldo bar and grill and I played this fun golf game.

I also got to try out the new kinect! It was sooo much fun! You've got to try it! It was a real workout: running in place, jumping, ducking. It was awesome. I just wish it was on Nintendo so that you could do a Mario game and actually be Mario. I've always thought that would be so awesome to actually have to run and jump on the mushrooms and jump up to get the coins yourself. But these games were fun, too.

I was awesome at rally ball.

Erin's sweet kinect moves!
Last week, I also went to my work place's Christmas party. It was a really sweet party. They had an open bar (of course) and the best food I've ever had. I'm serious, most catered food is not that good. It's usually prepared way in advance and by the time you eat it, it's just not great. But this food was amazing. They had turkey that was so tender and juicy with the best flavor! Awesome cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, even the steamed vegetables were so good! Then, they had a good dj and everyone actually danced and had a good time. So, if I can take one positive thing from this experience, it may have to be that turkey I had! And all at the expense of the American public going into debt.

Some co-workers and I at the party
I had a great time seeing NeedtoBreathe this weekend at the Beaumont Club. Also got to play bingo last night at Kennedy's and won a sweet t-shirt and enough money to cover my drinks! :) Looking forward to playing trivia with my small group tomorrow night. So lots going on. As it should be!

Hope everyone has a great Christmas!!

Til next time...Laura
