Royals! Escobar!

It's about time I devoted a blog post to the best shortstop ever...Alcides Escobar! It all started a few summers ago at a Thirsty Thursday game with the Triple A baseball team, the Nashville Sounds. As I perused the roster, I came across an awesome name- Escobar! Just say it out loud right now, Escobar! It's fun, right?

Well, after a few games, I decided not only did Escobar have a great name, he was pretty good too! And then, the majors called him up. The Sounds were in the Milwaukee system so off he went to the Brewers. I was happy for him, but sad that I wouldn't get to see him play anymore.

And then, one glorious day last December, we heard the news that the Royals had traded their talented, yet bad attitude guy Zach Greinke. To my astonishment, I found that the Royals in return got Alcides Escobar! It was some of the greatest news I had ever heard.

So, last week I got to see Escobar play in person twice and he was so good! He is best at defense, he gets everyone out! So, if you hadn't heard before, now you know. Look out world, Escobar is amazing!

Check out who I saw first when entering the K!

This is for MJ- her old Tennessee buddy, Luke Hochevar!

Yay Escobar!!!

I would highly encourage you to check out some of his highlights: Escobar highlights

In other news, last Sunday was a fun day at City Market. We walked around and had lunch at Winslow's BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious! The meat was excellent.

That's all I have to report for now. Big day tomorrow- celebrating Jesus in the morning and celebrating the Preds winning tomorrow night!

Go Preds!!!!

The Preds begin their playoffs tonight vs. Anaheim! I am sooooooo sad to not be in Nashville during this time. Playoff games are unlike any other experience- it's the loudest, most intense, most exciting thing I've ever done. When the Preds make it to the second round, I've got to be there!

Last weekend, I was fortunate to drive over to St. Louis and meet up with some Nashville buddies for the last regular season game vs. the Blues. We had a few hours before the game to hang out and then we enjoyed a huge party suite with food and beverage during the game. Unfortunately, they had to go back that night and so did I so it was a fast trip but fun!

Myself, Mary Jane and Rhonda before the game

Rachel (she's hilarious!), Rhonda, MJ and me

Rhonda and me on the bus

The crew on this awesome bus we got to take from the bar before the game to the arena
The game itself sucked as the Preds lost but it didn't really matter because it didn't affect their final standings. Overall, it was a great time! Miss all my co-workers from Bridgestone Arena and miss being a part of something so great!! Definitely the best place to work in Nashville.

Girls Night Out

I've had a bit of a bad luck streak going (sick, Bruce needed fixing, etc.) so tonight was a much needed girls night with Jessica and Bree. Here's what we did!

First, we ate pizza at Coal Vine's on the plaza. It was kinda fancy for a pizza place. It's really a good place during nice weather because it's on a corner and all the walls are doors that they open up to the outside. It was a little chilly tonight for that though!

Pizza was real thin crust but quite tasty!
Next, we had a visit with Ben Franklin! He told us all about the 200th anniversary of the Bill of Rights in 1991.
Tell us about those amendments Ben!
Bree was getting a little frisky with Ben!

Next, we walked around the Plaza and did a little shopping.

Now that the weather's getting better, it's about time for me to find some more fountains! Here's the perfect one to start back up with!

No. 61 the OMG fountain "Boy and Frog"
Then, we had Cheesecake Factory! Yum!

I tried the new Reese's cheesecake and it was amazing!

No. 62- Jess whispering sweet nothings to this fountain

No. 63- another Plaza fountain

No. 64- another Plaza fountain

No. 64 another view of the little statue
Last week, we ate at The Filling Station in Union Hill. It's a cute little coffee shop place.

I had a real good club sandwich.
So, little Josie is now 5 months old! She seriously is the cutest baby I've ever seen. She makes funny faces and expressions.

She thinks her feet taste good! Ha!
Well, that'll wrap things up for me for now! Exciting weekend ahead with a trip to see my beloved Preds in St. Louis! So proud of the Preds, they've had a great season and will be an exciting time in the playoffs! I've missed seeing them play this year so much!!!
